LITERACY DAY CELEBRATION
The objective of the Literacy Day Celebration is to instill in our pupils the spirit of reading, to help develop and sustain their interest and desire to read at all times. The event is celebrated in the second term of each academic year under the overall theme;. “A chapter a day keeps the mind awake, reading is succeeding”. Pupils in all grade levels from Kindergarten to Junior High School participate in this event. Activities for the day include: reading competition, spelling bee, word puzzle and crowning of the overall best reader to encourage our children to read more we have constructed a special reading shade where children gather to read books in a quiet and serene environment.
CAREERS’ DAY CELEBRATION
The Careers Day celebration is organized in the first term of each academic year under the overall theme “I believe I can be what I wish to be through Christ who strengthens me”. The event is organized as part of Tema Ridge School’s drive to achieve academic excellence, build a strong faith in our pupils and enable them to fulfill their future aspirations. During this event, all pupils are encouraged to dress up in the outfits of the careers to which they aspire in the future. All pupils are encouraged to write short narratives and also perform a sketch on their chosen career aspiration. The event is crowned by a talk on career choices and vocational guidance by persons drawn from the various professions.
CREATIVITY DAY CELEBRATION
Creativity Day is celebrated in the third term of each academic year. Pupils from all grades produce artwork on nature and the environment.An important milestone of this event is the Art Exchange Program between Tema Ridge School and Vancouver Island University Faculty of Educationon on the Earth Charter. This collaboration focus on the Rights of the Child, Peace, Democracy, non-Violence and Environmental-related issues. Click here to see images in the picture gallery
CHRISTMAS PARTY /CAROLS CELEBRATION
At Tema Ridge School, Christmas is a special time to strengthen the social bond between management, staff and pupils. The school organizes a special Christmas party for all members of the school community to come together and feast to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord. Activities for our young pupils include face painting, swimming and playing on a bouncy castle. At the end and to cap it all, our own ‘Santa Claus’ presents gifts to all our pupils. Our children ennact a play depicting the birth of Christ and celebrate the event with the singing of Christmas carols.
